Mental toughness is the inner requirement for strength of character and is attained through the power of discipline. Character brings to the man who has it, admiration and respect from others and satisfaction and growth within himself; whereas lack of character incites only self-pity if not active dislike. Elbert Hubbard wrote: “Character is the result of two things: Mental attitude (mental [...]

You have not only lost the knowledge of God, you have also lost faith in yourselves. Infinite are the powers that lie in man, but he makes no use of them, he lets them wither. Before he begins some work he introduces his thinking, and lets himself be governed by it. And in its limitation the memory of man, which is lawfully subordinate to this earth, cannot grasp that the spirit should be superior [...]

Did you ever see a man’s desk piled high with paper and things, the pigeon-holes crammed full, and running over? Do you know what the trouble is? Our attitude makes such a difference as to how we carry out our ambitions, and unless we watch our attitude, we can destroy the high ideal of our ambition. What a difference the right or the wrong attitude makes. A proper attitude leads to success and an improper attitude leads the other way. These attitudes can be easily detected by others and they know pretty well what we have in mind.
On the [...]

Merely wishing or hoping that your day will go well is half doubting. It isn’t good enough. It admits the possibility of failure as much as it does the possibility of success. Expect your day to be happy and productive. And act according to that belief. We don’t really believe a thing until we have enough faith in it to act as if it were true. We often act in a way that proves [...]

Positive thinking is the basis of happiness and success. I don’t think you can have a good life without it. When you think negative thoughts, it saps your mind and drains your spirit.
I’m convinced that man can lift himself out of his circumstances, no matter how bad, with the help of positive thinking.
I think the two most detrimental thinkers in human history were Charles Darwin and [...]

It is a crime to discourage any honorable ambition germinated in another’s heart, and perhaps a greater offense to allow it to be destroyed.

To lead others to do right is wonderful. To do right and then lead them is more wonderful…and harder.
